Me tanking

I heal mostly , I've dabbled in DPS but now my troll druid is tanking actually she leveled tanking (I'm almost 70! :O ). Tanking is an odd choice for me though I'm not a leader I'm painfully shy I'm timid I'm just not a bossypants like most tanks I have known, so no speed runs I like to look at a pull and think about it for a moment decide the best strategy then pull. I'm an ok tank, at least I think I'm not horribad awful scary bad and my son who usually heals me says I'm consistently better then most tanks he's met, but since I am the one in control of treats and various other stuff he may be trying to be nice (to him if you're reading this I know you are usually brutally honest I was joking.).

But...

Sometimes when I tank it starts like this, I look at the mobs feel secure that all my keybinds are in the right place and my hand is on the keyboard ( I'm still learning how to mouse turn and use keybinds) in the right spot and ready then I pull with fairy fire, demoralizing roar and.... then all hell breaks loose and I'm thinking AHHH! the mage just fireblasted a different target the hunter shot something from an entirely different group of mobs we have twice the pull I intended, hit challenging roar AHHH!! AHHHH! growl, now the mages target is under control change to the hunters maul swipe whatever get that one's aggro oh hell, the mage is hitting another mob where the hell did that come from AHHHH! another group!!!!! growl, swipe, mangle, maul, roar whatever hit what's not on cooldown I hope I can keep aggro on all of these, things start to wind down and mobs die, for the most part I hold aggro no one dies but Arrghhh! that was complete chaos, why did I think I could do this pant, pant, pant! Does anyone else feel like that or is it just me? Other tanks seem so calm.

Then there are pulls that go like this LOS the caster mobs to the right spot the DPS all target my target no random mobs running around I rotate through targets use my tools and it's calm and perfect I always have aggro. Why did I ever thing this was hard.

It seems like a PUG is all the first kind pull or the second kind and I have no idea if I'm any good or why it's either easy or super stressful hard.

I don't actually like writing.

This blog gets ignored a lot, I don't really like writing. I like the concept of it, it's a great way to communicate, but typing or putting pencil to paper, that part is difficult. I have stuff to say and a family that will mostly listen to my thoughts on WoW, and in the past a guild that would enjoy my scrambled slowly typed out thoughts( I type with my right hand , letting my left hand get involved just leads to random letters and such added to things). It's one thing I lost after the brain injury, before that I kept notebooks full of stories and could type very well, and kept a lot of notes in school, but after the injury I just couldn't, the pattern of how words go on paper or in type was just gone. The rules of written word were forgotten, with a few remenants here and there, so I have to relearn it, or did or still am. The solution to keeping or getting back the skills is to just write obviously, keep in practice, so I started a blog, I intend to write more and have a fair number of ideas for posts but writing something takes me a while.

chests of cheese

In Cataclysm we got cool new chests, they show up throughout the world and contain blue items of the level of the zone they are in , I find about one a day, it's nice the blue items sell well.

I miss the old chests you know the ones in the middle of a group of murlocs , the oh so desirable I must get to that chests so you fight a bazillion murlocs to get to it , open it and find your amazing treasure, CHEESE .... nothing else just cheese. Dalaran Sharp, Dwraven Mild, Darnassus Bleu, Stormwind Brie, Fine Aged Cheddar, Alterac Swiss... you remember right? My characters were never hungry , I never had to buy cheese, I love cheese, but now chests just some fancy item that I have to go sell, If I live that long. I mean there I am in the middle of nowhere with no food! can you eat Troll Bane Leggings?....yeah I didn't think so I 'll starve to death in my pretty new Black Velvet robes. Cataclysm was right!!!

still pugging away

I still do a PuG every day pretty much. No level 85 yet. I don't really like endgame,(can one still be burned out since vanilla?) I still love healing randoms but haven't been to the cata content yet.

About Pugs things I have noticed,

Most go fine.

When it is bad it's really bad.

Most people aren't jerks.

They are often quiet, which is often better, because most of the ones where people talk a lot go bad, unless the people are from role play servers.

I still have to shout " FOR THE LOVE OF THE LIGHT, LET ME DRINK" more than I would like.

People from Wrymrest Accord are more likely to ERP in group. Happened 5 or so times in the last month, always the tank and a DPS, never the same two (although who knows, they could be alts) , only people from WrA, other then once they stopped when asked or maybe shifted to whisper. I'm from Moon Guard... so umm, irony?

Tanks seem to randomly go AFK to take showers or are just bad at excuses, this usually happens after I replace another healer, it makes me wonder what went bad if they need to shower that badly.

At least in low level instances there are still chests with cheese, because although random blue items are nice I miss the cheese.

ghost wolf and rocket jump. I'm not sure why it just amuses the heck out of me. arf ....whosh giggle!

I started a goblin shaman , I really like playing her, I tried a worgen druid but still find the in worgen form movement to look weird so I may just get to 30 ( think it's 30 now) and spend all my time in moonkin form. I really found the goblin and worgen beginner areas annoying though, I usually prefer to start character and wander randomly through various starting areas, and the following the one path just sorta pissed me off .

Back

I'm back playing WoW, I still have mixed feelings about the Cata changes, but I actually having fun. I really hope they find a new place for some of the whelps to drop since my farming in the last week has failed and I really want an azure whelpling .

I'm back on the US servers since the EU shop won't sell me time ( I will draw character portraits for EU game time or US even, just contact me if you're interested. samples of my art http://doombunni.deviantart.com/). I went back to Moon Guard, like always, I guess it was the first place I ever played just for myself and how I wanted, so it's still my favourite place to go, I need more character slots though or to delete a few characters... maybe there will be queues and free transfers off with the expansion *shrug * I can hope.

I can't wait to try a gnome priest , or troll druid though, but I may just race change my NE druid to a troll, because I have two druids on the server already and both have pets and neat items from the past.

One level later an orc warlock level 80 falls from the cliff where you do part of the shaman quest. We stand looking down at his dead body.

My daughter: My mum can rez you in one level after she trains.
